Stephen Hawking has a new book coming out in September. It is first book since The Universe in a Nutshell was published in 2001. Stephen Hawking’s new book, The Grand Design, is co-written by California Institue of Technology physicist Leonard Mlodinow. The book examines the idea of a “unified theory” that can explain all the forces of nature.
Stephen Hawking believes we are very close to an understanding, not just of the workings of our universe, but of its very beginnings. Drawing on forty years of Hawking’s own research and a recent series of extraordinary astronomical observations and theoretical breakthroughs, Hawking and Mlodinow examine the evidence for the existence of a ‘unified theory’–a single theory that can describe and explain all the forces of nature.

Ellen DeGeneres is writing another book. Her new book will be published by Grand Central Publishing, a division of Hachette Book Group. The book, not yet titled, will take a look at her life thcoarse her humor. It is slated for publication in fall 2011. This will be Ellen’s third book. Her previous books, My Point…And I Do Have One (1995) and The Funny Thing Is… (2003) were both New York Times bestsellers.
Ellen said, “I’m excited to be writing another book. I found that between my talk show, American Idol and my late night blogging, I didn’t have enough ways to express myself.”

Star Jones, a former The View host, has landed a book discount with Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster. Star Jones’ novel will follow the female hosts of The Lunch Club, a popular daytime talk show, as they learn that a former colleague - who departed under mysterious circumstances, and is privy to all their backstage secrets - is coming back. The novel is scheduled for publication in Spring 2011.
Star Jones says, “As a enormous fan of escapist reading - everything by Danielle Steel, Sex and the City, and any Devil Wears anything books - I’ve dreamed of writing a juicy novel for many years. Just like in the daytime talk show world, readers will love getting to know these characters and engaging in their lives. Entertainment Weekly reports that Fox has cut a discount with Little, Brown Books for Young Readers for a series of Glee novels. The first novel in the series, Glee: The Beginning, will arrive in bookstore on September 1st. The author of the first Glee novel is Sophia Lowell. The novel is a prequel to Fox’s hit television show.
